Class Descriptions

  • A moving meditation! Awaken your physical practice and flow mindfully, fully united with the breath, through carefully crafted sequences to enliven and deepen your practice. Suitable for all levels, with modifications offered for beginners and advanced variations offered for the more experienced practitioner. Classes are often themed to inspire your practice on and off the mat! All levels are welcome, however, it may take a couple of classes to build body awareness of the pace and breath. After that, you’ll be hooked!

  • A more advanced, dynamic flow building skills around arm balancing and inversions and for the student seeking a challenge. We recommend taking at least 10 all levels classes before advancing to level 2/3 classes. (or just skip the advanced part of the class and come to enjoy the flow!)

  • Vinyasa Flow with a little heat! (we warm the room to about 90 degrees) The heat allows you to get into the poses more deeply and effectively. When your body is warm, it creates a greater range of movement in the joints, muscles, ligaments, and other supporting structures of the body. Bring water and a towel! Our studio is equipped with energy-efficient Heating Green Infrared Heaters to support all heated classes. Infrared heat has many benefits to the body, including increased circulation, pain reduction, and inflammation relief.

    ABOUT THE HEAT

Our studio is equipped with energy efficient Heating Green Infrared Heaters. We use these heaters for temperature control in the winter for all classes, but this is primarily how we heat our studio to 90 for Heated Yoga Classes.

    Why and How Infrared Works:

Infrared or radiant heating is simply the transfer of heat from a warm object to a cooler object. The heat is a product of a completely safe spectrum of light that is invisible to our eyes.

Just as the sun, these heaters radiate sun-like warmth to objects the yoga room - walls, floors, and people, rather than heating the air, and without the sun damage of course.

These technologies amount to safe, clean, low-cost energy, friendly to our bodies and to the environment.

By comparison, systems like forced air, baseboard, and wall heaters only heat the air. Because warm air rises in the presence of cooler air, the heated air can be easily sucked away by drafts or wind, and must be replaced frequently by more heated air in order to sustain ambient comfort. This all amounts to wasted energy.

This heat enables your body to more easily warm up into yoga poses and provides a soothing, ambient quality to your practice.

  • Harness your balance, find stability, develop focus and build strength while utilizing the original hot yoga sequence that includes a set of 26 postures that are visited one at a time and held for a duration of 60-90 seconds each. Postures may be repeated as time allows in order to foster depth and muscle memory. Class begins and ends with breathing exercises, moves through a standing balancing sequence as well as a floor sequence that cultivates a strong and supple spine. You’ll challenge your stamina, produce a detoxifying sweat, and reap the benefit of increased flexibility.

  • Prana Vinyasa Yoga is the evolution of energetic vinyasa to realize and enhance the flow of our life. A practice cultivated by Shiva Rea and the Samudra Global School of Living Yoga. Prana Vinyasa is a creative approach to embodying the flow of yoga.

This practice teaches energetic alignment and a connection to the breath wave to enable a sustainable and evolutionary embodiment of asana in your body on the yoga mat and in the body of your life. This practice integrates the wisdom of the natural rhythm inside and outside of the body to awaken a connection to sacred inner flow.

Every class is well rounded, following the mandala of the body and asanas – to create a whole body transformation of strength and fluidity, circulation and centering. Expect a practice that accommodates all levels while cultivating balance and vitality on and off the mat.

  • Mindfully embedded in the rich tradition of yoga, this class is a gateway to most modern vinyasa classes. Working through the intelligence of the primary series, known as "yoga chikitsa" or yoga therapy, you will experience a full-body practice establishing strength, balance, flexibility, and focus from the ground up.

While maintaining a systematic approach through the set sequence, the series is modified for all body types yet consistent to permit you to recognize patterns in your body so that deeper layers of your practice will unfold. As you memorize the postures over time, practice becomes a moving meditation allowing you to draw your senses inward creating a fertile path to self-discovery.

A strong emphasis is placed on the Tristhana method, a combination of the 3 focal points: breath, gaze, and asanas (posture + bandhas) allowing you to be completely present and aware during practice. The pulsating rhythm of the class is steady yet challenging while offering ample opportunities for more specific verbal cues and physical adjustments.

  • Yin Yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons, fascia, and bones. The Yin practice includes long holds of passive, yet powerful poses, giving the body time to open and release. Some classes close with a sound bath of crystal singing bowls to nourish your mind, body, and spirit and awaken your senses. Yin is challenging, yet it is an accessible class for all ages and levels to enjoy. Wear comfy clothes and extra layers.

  • A vinyasa/flow style practice with a strong focus on alignment and breath. In this practice, we will build to a peak posture and/or concentrate on a specific alignment element. You will break a sweat, crack a smile, and dive deeper into your yoga practice.

  • A sweaty, dynamic flow with added intensity for those looking to take it up a notch. This class integrates a strong vinyasa yoga practice with free weights, strength training, and cardio all to the beat of the music.

  • This class will pair the long holds of yin yoga with the healing properties of Reiki. Reiki encourages energy balancing in both body and mind, helping to clear the places that are stuck or holding. This practice will invite you to create physical space in the body with longer-held postures as well as energetic clearing with Reiki. Expect to leave this therapeutic practice feeling restored and relaxed.

  • This class invites you to slow down and create space for supportive movement and nourishing stillness. The beginning portion of the class will incorporate fluid movements that support healthy joints and blood flow. The yin portion of the class includes long holds of passive, yet powerful poses, giving the body time to open and release. This is a gentle-paced offering, an accessible class for all ages and levels to enjoy.

  • Yoga Nidra, also known as “Enlightened Sleep”, is a meditative embodiment practice that draws you through the layers of the Self into your innermost essence. This guided journey will open you to your deepest states of consciousness, nourishing you with remembrance, healing, and vital energy as you harmonize all levels of your being.

Yoga Nidra helps to eliminate stress, engage healing, resolve trauma and neutralize anxiety, fear, anger, depression, insomnia, and chronic pain. With consistent practice, the qualities of joy, peace, empathy, forgiveness, and loving-kindness towards ourselves and others begin to express more freely in our lives.

This is a very gentle, accessible class for all ages and levels to enjoy. We will begin with gentle joint rotations and subtle movements and then delve into Yoga Nidra - the potent practice of deep rest - for the majority of the class. This practice is meant to facilitate complete relaxation, so feel free to bring a pillow and blanket to keep you cozy throughout the class. Wear warm, comfortable clothing, and try to arrive early so that you can begin unwinding the moment you walk in the door.

  • It’s an exercise in disguise—a dance party and a workout. Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance fitness class that started over 20 years ago and is still going strong! It’s a total body, aerobic workout that uses music and steps from dance rhythms such as salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton, flamenco, etc. It is designed to be easy to follow, effective, fun, and made for everyone! A Zumba class can help you get fit, improve cardio and flexibility, build and tone muscles, lower stress, and put a smile on your face :)

  • Chakra Flow is a 60-minute Vinyasa styled class themed around our 7 main Chakras. We will move through a ½ Vinyasa, ½ Restorative practice dedicated to a specific Chakra with the intention to explore a physical, emotional, and psychological release of stagnate energy. Our Chakras are a way our body communicates with us – bringing awareness, intention, and balance to our Chakras allows us to live an inspired life, more closely aligned with our true high self.

Set your mind and heart free as you open up into a supportive, nurturing and creative space. Please bring your journal and a pen.

This is a gentle-paced offering, an accessible class for all ages and levels to enjoy.
