Zel Boone

Zel Boone is a lifelong student of movement and the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. It began with gymnastics and dance, initiating her love of movement, the body's natural way of expressing ideas, emotions, and experiences.

Zel's yoga journey began when she moved from the Philippines to Salida, Colorado in the winter of 2009. After finding it very challenging living in a new country so far away from her family, she decided to go to the gym and attend her first yoga class. She instantly fell in love with yoga and it felt so natural, reminding her of her flexibility and grace from youth gymnastics and dance.

She and her husband Tony have two girls, Zy Elysia 13 and Zara Antonette 12. They love to travel and recreate in the outdoors, whether it be hiking, climbing, biking or camping! She faithfully enjoys morning yoga no matter how she feels, and love sharing her passion with others of all ages. She also loves and cherish being a full-time mom,  and inspiring her family by example. After a decade of quietly pursuing her passion, she became a certified Yoga Teacher by Yoga Alliance to share her love of yoga. The discipline and dedication, combined with pranayama, have helped her gain confidence and calmness, even in times of chaos.

In 2018, Zel finished her first 200 hour YTT with Jalablu Yoga and in 2019, Zel completed her 250-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training Course with Megan Kahn, et al.of  Yoga Olas In Salida to augment her skills in teaching especially Vinyasa Yoga.  Zel is also certified to teach Ashtanga by David Swenson with 40 hours Teacher Training plus hours of 3-day Ashtanga Intensive Workshop.  She has also online certification for Kids Yoga. Zel’s  goal and passion in teaching yoga is to encourage others to turn inward and strive to feel their best.

Zel's classes are accessible to every practitioner through modification, alignment, breathing and through listening and honoring their bodies. She continues to expand her practice and teachings through additional trainings such as Ashtanga, Mysore and YIN. She believes education is a continuing process.
