Karey Rae Evans
Karey is a 500+ hour certified yoga instructor, Pilates teacher, handstand addict, & lover of life from Jacksonville Beach, FL! With over 8.5 years of practice and 4.5 years of teaching experience she radiates positivity and is a genuine, fun, and passionate fitness professional.
In 2009, while attending her last year of college at the University of North Florida, Karey survived an unthinkable, tragic accident. During her intense recovery, yoga & Pilates found Karey and sparked her passion for mindfulness and movement. These practices became a way for her to work through the day-to-day physical as well as mental challenges of trauma recovery. Yoga brought and continues to gift Karey with inner peace and contentment while Pilates gives her strength from deep within. After several years of practice & healing she went on to obtain her 200HR (2012) and mat Pilates certification (2015). Most recently, she traveled to Thailand to obtain 300 hours of FIT FLOW FLY Vinyasa teacher training with Bryce Yoga and ACROVINYASA. Upon return from two months of training and travels in Southeast Asia she moved her life to just outside of Salida, Colorado with her husband George.
Karey has refined her practice and teaching style to fuse her love of acrobatics & inversions, and anatomy & alignment with the power of core-centric & breathe-based movement. She is a unique and versatile teacher who believes in a lighthearted and anatomical approach that makes the practice accessible and fun for all. She looks forward to meeting Salida yogis and helping to grow the YOGA OLAS community where she now teaches Thursday 5:30-6:30PM Power Vinyasa!
