Tessie discovered yoga in college while traveling in Australia, as she found herself staying with a host family of ayurvedic practitioners and yogis. late night conversations consisted of the doshas, the body constitutions, and the Bhagavad Gita. Ignited with interest, yoga perfectly embodied the connection between body and mind relative to her studies in biology and psychology, a match she curiously continues to explore through practice. a once stiff athlete, Tessie relished in the dichotomy of steadiness and ease that left her feeling refreshed.
Tessie's focus has been on vinyasa, Hot Bikram-style, Restorative, Ashtanga and kids yoga. She continues to deepen her practice through workshops and additional trainings, including a recent intensive course for Ashtanga teachers focusing on anatomy, alignment, adjustments and meditation. She is eager to incorporate these teachings throughout her classes.
For the past couple of years, Tessie has enjoyed living endless summers as she splits time between salida and chile and has had opportunities to share yoga with others during retreats, private sessions, conferences, in hostels and in studio settings. Traveling has allowed her to focus on yoga and to foster a personal exploration of the relationship between breath, body and mind as well as interpersonally. She strives to create active, balanced classes that awaken stagnant energy, release toxins and leave us feeling refreshed.
